About
Coggin’s Youth Ministry has been led by Ricky Cavitt since 1989. The vision for this ministry has always been and still is today, every one every week – to reach and disciple every student, every week who walks through our doors into a personal relationship with Christ. Our goal is for every student to feel seen, known, and loved and then help each of them build their faith on a strong foundation and prepare them to go out and reach other students.
In our youth program, we seek to:
- Reach and evangelize students who have no relationship with God,
- Disciple those who do have a relationship with God,
- Lead students to worship the Lord, serve others, and fellowship with one another, and
- Make disciples who make more disciples.
Adults and college students join us in the mission of discipling our students. They help us lead small groups where real and tough questions can be asked and where each student has a chance to engage. Our volunteer leaders help us do so much more in the lives of students than our staff alone could do.
Sunday Morning Bible Study
On Sunday mornings, youth meet in the CCC in Room 216 at 9:45 am for a brief large group gathering and then break off into Sunday School groups. In the groups, leaders have prepared engaging lessons for the students to help them grow in their faith and leadership skills.

2024-2025 Events

Sondays Camp
- July 6-11
Coggin has been attending Sondays Camp for over 20 years. It’s a summer church camp in Cedar Hill, TX, where students get a break from the world, from their phone, and from social media to focus back in on God and on each other. Every year we have an amazing speaker who challenges students in how they live out their faith and how they share that with others. Sondays Camp is one our highlights of the year and we can’t wait! We take students coming out of 7th-12th Grade.

Welcome Week
- 9:00am-12:00pm, July 28-31
- CCC Room 216 (Upstairs)
It is a big transition to go from the church’s children’s program into the youth group. That’s why we love Welcome Week! Welcome Week is a week where we get to know, play games, and introduce incoming 7th Graders to the youth ministry. They’ll learn what it means to worship, study the Bible daily, walk in community with others, and be a light in their schools. They’ll also get to know our youth leaders and older students from the youth group. We hope that your student will join us!
